The creation of Le Songe (The Dream) highlighted the 20th anniversary of the Monte Carlo Ballet. The piece is adapted from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and features an ancient court, amateur actors, elves and goblins in a fantastical atmosphere. Maillot commissioned the score from two contemporary composers, Daniel Teruggi et Bertrand Maillot, and also included the celebrated music by Mendelssohn.
